I've been doing changes for a better organize website. The "Home" page will not be use to publish every new blog I create, go to the tags and there will be most of the stuff. Read the comments as there will be my updates regarding that subject.
I do this because I dislike that the new blogs appear as soon as you enter my page and people will be like WTF?

Food? Choose wisely...

Ana in the Holidays

Seems like we are going to a trip to hell AKA X-mas spirit, food and lots of candies... the best time to GAIN weight... yes, it is hell.

What to do? Well, first off we have to be STRONG. Realize that one eggnog can have more than 300 calories... 300!!! Scary my friends, really scary... Family dinners, grandma brings 2 desserts... TWO!!! Eating out with your partner (husband, bf, wife, gf...), eating out with friends or missing all the fun... Is there all? NO, I will be posting some pages from MY personal Food Sanctuary to avoid eating massive amounts, locking yourself and missing the holidays and avoid not fitting into your clothes!

Sweet Potato & Turnip Mash with Sage Butter


From EatingWell: November/December 2010

 Ingredients

1/2 pound sweet potatoes, peeled and diced

4 ounces turnips (about 2 medium), peeled and diced

1 -2  large cloves garlic

12  fresh sage leaves, divided (12 left whole, the rest cut into strips)

1 tablespoons light butter

1/2 teaspoon kosher or sea salt

1/4 teaspoon coarsely cracked pepper
Preparation

1.Place potatoes, turnips, garlic and 6 sage leaves in a medium saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until the vegetables are fork-tender, 10 to 13 minutes. Drain. Return the vegetables to the pan and keep covered.

2.Heat butter in a small skillet over medium-high heat. As it melts and turns lightly brown, add the strips of sage and allow them to crackle and flavor the butter, about 1 minute.

3.Pour the sage and butter over the vegetables and smash with a potato masher. Stir in salt and pepper and serve.


1 Cup = 176 calories

Days go by

People fail to realize the importance of the little choices we make. A little bite of this and that and at the end of the day we are a pound heavier! A pound my friends, and that's scary.

Food should be not be legal entirely, it kills more ppl than any other crime!
